Dear Parents,
Please read the details of various codes of conduct for your children and guide them to adhere to them sincerely.
1. GENERAL CONDUCT:
Students represent schools from leaving home until they return. Students are expected to set themselves a high standard of behaviour inside as well as outside the school.
2. ATTENDANCE:
For healthy learning, Parents/Guardian must make sure that students shall be present on most if not all days. A minimum of 75% attendance has to be maintained in order to be considered for promotion to the next class.
3. LEAVE APPLICATIONS:
The process of applying for leave is for parents/guardians to write to the class teacher well in advance, notifying dates and the reason for absence. Class teacher should be informed whilst the student is absent from school for 2 or more days on the second day itself.
Unauthorized absence for more than 15 days will lead to removal from the rolls. Students are not allowed to go out of the school compound during school hours, including recess time.
4. LATES:
All students must be at school 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the school. Latecomers must report to the class teachers before going to class. Latecomers are marked in the calendar diary. Furthermore, if it is repeated, disciplinary actions will be taken and the student will have to be accompanied by the parent otherwise the student shall not be taken in the school.
5. THE SCHOOL UNIFORM & GROOMING:
The full school uniform should be worn tidily and correctly both at school and between home and school. Shirts are to be tucked in and socks are to be pulled up. No jewelry is permitted except small ear studs for girls. No piercings are allowed.
A student’s hair must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Hair should not be touching the shirt collar and should be off the face. No hair styles which imitate a certain group of people like film stars or rowdies.
Girls’ hair must be tied up and braided. Girls with long hair must tie 2 braids tidily. No dye or highlights are allowed.
6. RAGGING OR TEASING:
Any form, verbal or physical, or any means of bullying or victimization is strictly forbidden. Students must not be seen ragging or teasing the other schoolmates. If found guilty, the first instance will lead to parents visiting the school to discuss the issue.
Repetition will lead to student’s suspension for 3 or more days. Multiple instances might lead to termination of the student unconditionally.
7. MOBILE PHONES & DEVICES:
(Laptops/Notebooks/Tablets) Devices will be permitted in school with written permission from the class teacher or Head of the Section and acknowledgment from the parents. Students will be able to use them in class as learning devices with the express permission of the teacher. Such permission must be sought and received before their use.
Students will not be permitted to use devices in the school grounds during Interval and Lunch. If a student uses a device inappropriately, or in infringement of the Admin Office’s policy, he will be dealt accordingly. The security and protection, within reason, of the device will be the responsibility of the student.
8. LITTER:
It is the responsibility of every student in the school to ensure that the school is free from litter. Students are also encouraged to take the responsibility for litter in their immediate vicinity and place any litter in the many bins placed around the school.
9. PERSONAL PROPERY:
All articles of clothing, shoes, books, bags and other personal property should be clearly marked with the owner’s name. No responsibility can be accepted 1 for unmarked property. Students losing or finding lost property should in the first 2 instance report to Admin Office.
10. BICYCLES:
Bicycles are to be kept in the parking provided at the entrance gates. Students are strongly advised to secure their bikes, cycle with a lock.
11. DAMAGE:
Damage of any kind to the school property must be reported immediately to the Admin Office or Principal. In the case of willful damage or negligence, students will be expected to contribute part or all of the cost of repair.
12. DISMISSAL:
Irregular attendance, habitual laziness, disobedience or malpractices in connection with examinations, conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of the student.
13. SOFT SKILLS:
Every student shall endeavor to make the school proud by excelling in studies & good manners. Politeness, courtesy in speech & conduct as well as cleanliness and grace of person are to be cherished.
14. PARENTAL CO-OPERATION:
Parents must attend the open house meeting to get an update on their child’s academic progress and conduct. In case the parent is unable to attend the open house it must be intimated to the class teacher before hand.
School Management has already issued directives regarding meeting time for teachers and Principal. Parents/Guardians are not allowed to enter the class rooms during school hours under any circumstances.
15. HOME WORK:
We have a bare minimum homework standard. We do not want to cram students with unnecessary homework. We have a ’10 minutes’ per class homework policy. Students are expected to complete roughly 10 minutes of HW for 1st, 20 minutes for 2nd and likewise 40 minutes for 4th and so on.
Repeated instance of not completing the work will lead to student staying back at the school to complete the pending work. Further repetition will lead to parents visiting the school to discuss the issue.
16. QUARRELSOME BEHAVIOR:
Students with aggressive behavior (quarreling or fighting) will not be entertained. First instance will lead the student to stand outside the classroom. Second repetition will lead to parents visiting the school to discuss the issue. Special counseling will be conducted of the student to educate him. Third repetition will lead to student’s suspension for 3 or more days depending on the severity of the case.
17. CLEANLINESS HOURS:
Students are expected to keep the school and nearby areas clean and should not litter. For best practices, we expect the students to have cleanliness hours once every week wherein they will clean their classrooms and eateries.
18. LIBRARY RULES:
The library is an important section in our school, and we intend that our students gather to benefit from books, magazines, articles, and newspapers. To make our students self-learners and limit the role of the teachers to guides or facilitators, we offer diverse library programs and subscriptions.
Students must take at least one book in a month and return it on its due date with a review of the book. No limit is set for availing books. The more the merrier! But only one book is issued at a given time. Review charts and points will be provided in a worksheet.
The schedule of book issue is stated in the library. Students should take due care of the library books and should return them in good shape without causing damage to the books.
If a student is not able to return the book on time, he should inform the librarian and take extended permission from him. No dues certificate has to be availed from the librarian at the end of each term for availing the exam hall ticket.
Students should observe proper discipline inside the library.
19. PARENTS:
Parents are requested to follow the rules and guidelines accordingly. Adherence to the school rules will help us in proper administration.
Send your kids in neat and clean uniforms every day and promptly on time. Send healthy meals in tiffin along with the students in the morning. Tiffin boxes during intervals are strictly not allowed.
Do not support your children when they err. Aware them of the nuisance in a healthy manner. Do not abuse or physically punish them.
Make sure that children should not reach the school earlier than 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the school and collect them within 30 minutes of school closing hours except on the dates when they stay back for co-curricular activities. Parents should make sure that children come to school with necessary learning materials including books, worksheets and stationery.
Parents and guardians are not allowed to meet the teachers or Principal during school hours. They should meet the concerned department on the specific scheduled dates after school hours. Parents should not call female teachers at their home after school hours.
Parents are suggested not to send the students to school if they are medically unfit. Rather submit a leave application to the concerned class teacher. Children suffering from infectious diseases like Chicken Pox, Measles, etc. should not be sent to the school until the infection period is over.
20. PARENTS-TEACHERS MEETING:
Parents must attend the Parents-teachers meetings regularly. They must consult the teachers for their children’s development on regular basis. The students should accompany the parents in complete school uniform when they come for PTMs.
21. COUNSELLING SESSIONS:
Each child is different and to sort of major academic or social issues, school’s counseling cell conducts various sessions. Individual sessions are also arranged depending upon the severity of the issues. Class teachers will report the problems to the Head of the Sections who in turn may refer the case to the Counseling department. Parents will be coordinated of the special needs attention the child might need with the results of the counseling sessions.
